Jerimiah the ant must crawl from and back to his ant colony to collect some food. There are 999 other ants doing the same thing as Jerimiah. Jerimiah is 1000 inches away from the food. If all 1000 ants (including Jerimiah) leave the ant colony at the same time, assuming they travel at a constant rate of 1 inch per second, What is the fastest way the 1000 ants can work together to collect the food back (assume each ant can take a max of 1/1000th of the food).

Should they all just walk and take 1/1000th of the food, or should they line up in a row and then do a fireline by passing the food back... (the food travels back at the same pace the ants do... no extreme loopholes plz)
