Find the x -intercept of the line 3x - 5y = 7

 

Can you help me? I have been stuck on this problem.

You can graph it, just like this.

 

 

Or, you can do it with math.

 

The x-coordinate means that the y value must be zero. We can plug in \(y=0\) and get \(3x=7\) .

Simplifying we get \(x=7/3\) , so the x-coordinate is 7/3.
