What is the fewest number of straight cuts that will divide a flat pancake into 16 pieces? (The pieces do not need to be the same shape or size.)

This question was posted before....as I recall (and can draw), the answer was 5. (though I think it was a pizza last time!)

I believe CPhil answered it mathematically....
