Let a be the number you started with

multiply by 5 ----- 5a

add 13 ----- 5a + 13

subtract 22 ----- 5a + 13 - 22 = 5a - 9

You end with 5a - 9 and you start with a. LOL.

20 + 3/8

= 160/8 + 3/8

= 163/8

( = 20 3/8)

Generally, you understand the operations like addition, subtraction, multiplication, ...... etc., and then apply them in the word problems and daily life so that you can know, like, how much money have you used on food, how long time did you walk, or even how long did Mercury need to orbit around the Sun 5 times,...... there is just too much maths you can use in daily life problems.

If there is no maths, there will be no currency system and people just swap their properties like a sheep for 10 apples. Also because maths is used in science, if there is no maths, there will be no science.

Math is so much to learn.

If yes,

n^2 * n^3 = n^5

2n*3n = 2*3*n*n = 6n^2
