I just worked out how to make an empty box of various horizonal size easily in LaTex.
This is not a recommended method, but other methods that I have tried here have not worked.

Very interesting question. No high level maths required.
This question was posted a couple of days ago.

I think it is really interesting. It looks much more difficult than it really needs to be.

Some guidelines for question askers.
Please note:
1) Ask only one question per post.
2) When asking a question talk about what you have tried for yourself. Then people will take you more seriously and will be more able and willing to help.
3) If you get an answer

What is the absolute value of 9?
What is the absolute value of -9?
There are 2 possible equations to make the problem true.
So, there are two answers.
I don't actually want to do it all for you.
Is this enough help?

The square root of 5 is an irrational number so it cannot be written exactly as a fraction or a decimal. It can only be estimated.

Initially y dash = 50*sin 53.1 degrees x dash = 50*cos 53.1 degrees
y=0 x=0
ongoing
y"=-g (I'll use -10) x"=0 ignore wind resistance
y' = -10t + 50sin 53.1 x'= 50*cos53.1
y= -5t^2 +(50sin53.1)*t x= (50cos53.1) *t
When y = 25
just substitute into the appropriate equation and solve with a quadratic equation.
I got 7.31 sec and 0.68 secs but I might have made a mistake.
This is enough to get you started. hope it helps.

I am not going to do the whole question for you but i will try to explain.
If g(x)=3*t - 6
then g(2) would equal 3*2 - 6 = 0
g(-4) = 3*(-4) - 6 = -18
g(a) = 3*a - 6
Just replace the original thing in the bracket with the new thing in the bracket.

I'm sorry, I don't get what Scott is saying although it would be easier to follow if this site allowed maths type.
Any way the question can only be answered if the original log is base e. So I will assume that.
log e^x = xloge = x*1 = x
So log (base e) of e^(2x+2) = 2x+2
The problem becomes 2x+2 = 7 The answer is x = 2.5

This is a region, there are an infinite number of answers.
First graph 5x+7y=57 It will be a dashed line because the less than sign is used.
then test a point (0,0) would be good.
If it satisfies the equation you shade in that side of the line, if it doesn't you shade in the other side.
Hope this helps.

There is no solution to this equation.
You are asking when does 5x-55 = 5x+9
This will be true when -55=9, in other words it will never be true.

It would be -1 because this is the only possible value for x
