Oh man. I've seen my fair share of tough math but nothing like logs! We just started this unit and a failed my test. Though, were taking a retake tommrow but it won'y help me if I'm not ready. Looked everywhere for help then remembered this site, heh I know, the only time I can remember to visit this site is when I need help, yeah, I get it. Anyways, straight to the point. I just need a few pointers an example really. The simplest one looks like 16^x=2^3. If anyone can help I'd be greatful.

16^x=2^3 = x=(ln(8)/ln(16))

16^x  = 2^3    let's get the bases the same, zegroes

[2^4]^x  = 2^3

2^(4x) = 2^3   since the bases are the same, solve for the exponents

4x = 3      divide by 4 on both sides

x = 3/4
