The area of rectangle ABCD is 8×4=32 square centimeters. The area of triangle AMC is 1/2​×8×4=16 square centimeters. The area of triangle MNC is 1/2​×4×4=8 square centimeters. Therefore, the area of region AMCN is 16+8=24 square centimeters.
