You are traveling on the Viper at 18.4 m/s on a hill 35.1 m high. The Viper drops you suddenly to a second hill that is 22.5 m high. How fast are you going now?

Assuming the sum of kinetic and potential energy is conserved, that is (1/2)mv12 + mgh1 = (1/2)mv22 + mgh2 then (1/2)v22 = (1/2)v12 +g*(h1-h2)  or v2 = sqrt(v12+2*g*(h1-h2))

18.42+2×9.81×(35.122.5)=24.2027271190665619

or approximately 24.2 m/s
