It should first be noted that p cannot be equal to -1

88(1+p)^30 = 5.5

(1+p)^30 = (5.5/88)

noe take both sides to the power of 1/30 and you can finish it.

Calculate the acceleration of a biker travelling around a circular path of 36.9 meter radius at 19.9 m/s

The acceleration is into the centre of the motion and

a = v^2 /r

a = 19.9^2 / 36.9

a = 10.7 m/s ²

Nod's answers are right but I thought you might like a reason.

20% off - divide by 5 because 20/100=1/5 you are actually multiplying by 1/5 which is the same as dividing by 5
33% off - divide by 3 because 33/100 =1/3 approx you are actually multiplying by 1/3 which is the same as dividing by 3
25% off - divide by 4 etc
10% off - divide by 10

These give the discounts, which is what you are asked for but if you needed the new price you would have to subtract the discount off the original price.

This is the 2nd quadrant so sin and therefore cosec is positive

= csc(3pi/4) = 1/sin(3pi/4) = 1 divided by +sin(pi/4) = 1 divided by (1/sqrt2) = 1*sqrt2/1 = sqrt2

how can u divide 1 by 2.54, with showing your work?

For starters, you can't divide by a decimal unless you are a calculator.
think of it as a fraction 1/2.54
and multiply by 100/100 (to make the bottom a whole number)
so it becomes

100 divided by 254
As a fraction it is easy.
100/254 = 50/127

As a decimal you need to do it by long division and it is a bit hard to show you that in this forum

log25^(2x+1)=log144

(2x+1)log25=log144

(2x+1)log(5^2)=log(12^2)

2(2x+1)log(5) = 2log(12)

(2x+1)log(5) = log(12)

2x+1 = log(12) / log(5)

And you can finish it.
