If you know that they are wrong then you must know what the answer is already.

So why do you give people here less information than what you have been given?

This is what I think

a) yes

b) and c)  The wording is strange but it is not contiuous at x=-1

d,e,f,and g are all -infinity

h) it is not continuous at x=-4

i,j,k,l all =0

m) Yes f is continuous at x=-2

----

n)    1

o)    -2

p) undefined

q)   f(-1)=-2

r)  f is not continuous at x=-1

s,t,u,v all =-2

w) f is continous at x = 3  (I think)

Infinite discontinuity at x=-4

x)  Jump discontinuity at x=-1

That is it I think.....

\(55=\frac{55}{1}\)

It is where the y=(x-1)^4  is undeneath the y=x-1 curve!

I have never seen modular arithemtic graphed before.

I blanked all but one of the graphs to see what it would look like.

Let the starting price be x

Satrting Value=x

The price of a stock increased by $3/day for six days,

new value = x+3*6 = x+18

then decreased by $2/day for three days

new value = x+18 - 2*3 = x+12

and then decreased by $5/day for two more days.

new value = x+12 -5*2 = x+2

If the final price of the stock was $39, what was its starting price?

x+2=39

x=37

The starting price was $37

I had not thought about that before.

To put it another way..

If the decimal is to terminate then

The prime factors of the denominator must ONLY  be the prime factors of 10 

 (which are  2 and 5 )

I assume this can be extended to other bases.

So

1/5 base 8 is a recurring decimal because the prime factors of 5 are not the prime factors 8

That works.

I just did the division

and got 

\(\frac{1}{5_8}=0.14\bar6\bar3\)   (base8)
